Kickass Kickballers of the Day: A national kickball tournament quarterfinals match went into extra innings this past weekend, and the scene was insane. Deadspin’s Barry Petchesky breaks down the final, epic play:

The beauty of kickball, of course, is the ability to peg the runner. Hit him with the ball while he’s on the basepaths, and he’s out. So as the winning run rounds third, the green team’s cutoff man attempts a last-ditch peg — evaded Matrix-style by the runner, who flips and touches home just as the guy backing up the plate nails him in the head. Game over, New York Shower Hammers win. The Shower Hammers would go on to win the tournament.
